Beginner's Guide to Learning Golf This Winter
Are you one of those people who keep telling themselves they are going to learn how to play golf, but never get around to it? Or maybe you are like many who get frustrated and give up. There is no better time than now learn the fundamentals of golf and be prepared to conquer any course next season. After all, you wouldn't want to be the only one of your friends who doesn't play, would you?
By now, I hope you are interested in learning golf this off-season. There are a few fundamental rules of golf that you should learn prior to taking your first swing. First, let us understand the grip. A lot of beginning golfers have a tendency to hold a golf club similar to the way they would hold a baseball bat. This is known as the "10 finger" grip. Establishing a proper golf grip will be pivotal to learning golf this off-season, and can be done in the comfort of your home. There are two grips in golf, the interlock grip and overlap grip. Both involve your index and pinky fingers either interlocking or overlapping and give you much greater control of the golf club than a 10 finger grip would.
The next step to learning golf this off-season will be making a proper golf swing. Depending on your height and weight, the proper golf swing could be a mixture of what others interpret as "proper." As a general rule, the proper golf swing utilizes a combination of legs, hips, shoulders, and arms to create a fluid motion back and through the ball. Your legs and hips will be the primary sources of power in your swing, while your shoulders and arms will determine the path your ball takes during flight. An especially important concept to recognize in your studies of learning golf is to resist the urge to slap at the ball with your wrists. Rather, allow your shoulder to drive through the ball. To learn more about these concepts, I strongly recommend The Simple Golf Swing System by the Golf Swing Guru, David Nevgot. His step-by-step golf guide will prepare you to challenge your most experienced friends on the golf course.
Lastly, one more concept to grasp while learning golf this off-season is golf etiquette. Familiarizing yourself with the rules of golf etiquette will do numbers to impress your playing partners. Golf etiquette includes notions of appropriate attire, when it's your turn to play your shot, speed of play, knowing the basic rules of golf, and common golf courtesy. There are many other notions of golf etiquette, but focus on those basic concepts for now. I wish you the best of luck in learning golf this off-season!
Are you serious about learning golf? If so, I STRONGLY URGE you to find out the secrets to a proper golf swing today! Visit GolfTipsHQ.com to learn more. Also, check out my full review of The Simple Golf Swing.

Find The Right Senior Golf Clubs
There are many manufacturers of senior golf clubs such as Calloway, Wedgewood, Adams and Nike. You need to choose a golf club that has enough flex in the shaft, but not too much. It will depend on your ability to swing the club as the amount of flex you need. The flex is what allows the golf club to bend as you swing and connect with the ball. You will choose from the ladies flex, senior flex, regular, stiff and extra stiff flex. If the flex of the shaft is not matched with your swing, you could miscalculate your swing. A senior golf club has a little more flex that that of a beginning golfer.
Many golf course pro shops do have golf clubs with different flex shaft ratings that you can use out on the driving range. This allows the senior golf player to find the right club that will give you the distance. Before you buy a club, trying different shaft flexes will enable you to find the one you need without mistakenly buying the wrong one. You can also find a shop that custom makes golf clubs for senior golfers and have a set of clubs make especially to enhance your game.
Whether you buy an expensive senior golf club or a discounted club will not matter as long as you buy the right club with the right amount of flex. You do however need to buy something durable, this is where it pays to be critical with discount clubs. Just because the club gives you, the distance might not mean it will be the best. Some discount clubs may loosen up as you use it more. This could cause the flex to become softer than what you need.
Senior golf players have more advantages today then what they have in the past. The clubs are designed more for their use and flexibility where as golfers in the past usually only had a few club flexes to choose from as they gained more experience in the game. Finding the different golf clubs and understanding the best clubs will help your game. You can look at different websites under the manufacturers of the clubs to see what they offer and what the ratings are before you seek a pro shop to try the club on the greens.

The Dress Code For Golf
Several things about men and boys are unwelcome on the golf course. The two most universal are concerned with shirts - any shirt worn by a player must have a collar and sleeves. Another area that is a no-no is the use of running pants and shoes that have metal studs. You should take care to avoid wearing clothing with obnoxious logos or anything offensive on them as well. Moreover, sporting jeans or sandals are prohibited and this applies to women too.
The most proper men's attire on the golf course happens to be collared shirts, the right pair of pants or shorts and golf or athletic shoes. A pair of golf shoes when worn must only have the soft spike type and not metal owing to the lawn damage that is caused by them. Shirts can have long or short sleeves and you can always wear a turtleneck or a sweater. The socks that are worn must be at least ankle length and should be a solid color with only minimal and tasteful logos.
If you are a woman, you are still expected to wear a fitted shirt with either shorts or skirt. Usually women are not allowed to wear any type of trousers, including jeans shorts. For women, the length of the skirt or short is important and they ought to be cautious that these do not go up more than 5 inches above the knee. However, specific golf courses have their own rules regarding this. Women are also supposed to wear shirts with collars unless they have put on a pullover with a V-style neck design.
However, a woman can wear a shirt that is completely sleeveless or have short sleeved (providing it has a collar). Other things which are allowed on the golf course are socks which comp up till the ankles, and shoes which should be either golf or athletic. Socks must be a solid color, with minimal logos and tasteful designs. In case you take any person with you to the golf course, this visitor should also abide by the same dress codes. As stated above the exact dress code for the golf course where you play may vary, a quick check of their website, or a quick phone call should clear up any questions you have in regards to what is appropriate and what is not if you have any questions.

Learning To Play Golf
One of the biggest problems that beginners have when learning golf is they tend to look up when they actually go to strike the ball. This small move can result to a stroke being counted against you even if you do not even strike the ball! It is important to always look down until after you have hit the ball. Your hips need to be rotated after hitting. When swinging, extend your arms fully, this really helps create the perfect swing, especially for a beginner learning golf. After a successful hit, count to five before you raise your eyes upwards.
Missing the putts is common for most beginners learning golf while being out on the green. Adopt a putting stance and keep looking at the golf ball. This will prevent you form missing the ball or hit it into the wrong direction you want it to go. Only look straight down at the ball when you actually putt and you will be looking at a much greater chance of actually hitting the ball into the hole without having to make unnecessary putts.
One common scenario among beginner's learning golf is to see them hitting the ball and have it going off to the sides of the green! With a little bit of patience this can be remedied easily. See if your stance is good - ask a co-player who is with you. Sometimes this can happen when you hit from the side of the cub. When this happens, it will obviously throw the ball to the side of the green. You end to build your strength and make solid swings to throw the ball into the direction yow want. Hooking is one of the last major flaws that strike at most beginners learning golf, which can be quite difficult to correct as well. The wrong stance can be the culprit so sometimes one needs to correct the way the ball is hit. If the club is clutched on to strongly, it can result in hooking. Nothing can replace hard work so do practice as often as you can.

Getting the correct golf club
Depending on the kind of move you want to make at a specific moment in a game you have to always consider getting the correct golf club for the situation. Very experienced golf players usually don’t have any difficulty in getting the correct golf club without a blink of an eye, but for beginners, conditions are different. You need to be sure that you’re getting the correct golf club since this could mean better results from you. After all, this is part of the golf playing tricks beginners and professionals recognize alike.
Getting the correct golf club means choosing from the woods, the irons or the putters as the main club categories are known. Let’s see when you should use each, and why it is so important you do so. When you play for the long distance shots the wood-headed is the right one. Getting the correct gulf club under the circumstances is essential since this usually works as the driver; the woods are the longest clubs and with the biggest of heads. If you’re hitting from turf – which requires high golfing skills – if you choose the woods, you’d be getting the correct golf club for the situation.
Then the irons fall in their turn into three categories according to their length, with the shortest being known as wedges. They are usually used for shorter shots particularly when approaching the green. We should mention that getting the correct golf club may get the most experienced player out to rely on very versatile shots, and the irons are usually the choice. However, many golfers now prefer the combined types – wood and iron – when it comes to getting the correct golf club. Then come the hybrid woods that serve the purpose of getting the correct golf club when on very rough terrain.
Last but not least, there are the putters, the clubs that you’ll need most when getting on the green. Though many say that getting the correct golf club on the green is not so important, it is advisable to stick to the clubs that where precisely designed for the matter. Getting the correct golf club is sometimes a matter of personal choice and many professionals choose to follow their instinct, nevertheless. You may also have a look at a professional site such as Golf Beginner Guide to learn some more on clubs and specific golf items for all sorts of players.

How to lower your golf handicap
It is said that golf is good for business, and many deals are struck over an amiable game. However, to be more in control of a situation, executives often turn to private trainers to help them lower the golf handicap if one actually exists. Playing naturally and with pleasure is good for health, well-being and business at the same time. If you find it difficult to lower your golf handicap during the classes, you can very well continue to practice in the privacy of your backyard. After all, you just need to swing and take some short shots around fifteen minutes a day in order to lower your golf handicap.
For instance it is essential to go further than simply hitting the green; you will actually have to take a shot at a par or a birdie. This is the part where most of you need to lower your golf handicap. You need to learn how to target a specific area of the green with precision. Here are the main tips to lower your golf handicap for short shots. First try to open your stance slowly, then, keep the feet close together and flex the knees more than usual. This should lead to a compact swing and a good scoring. Apply them and actually lower your golf handicap.
A tip here to help you lower your golf handicap is to practice the body swing while sitting on a chair, since you thus prevent the hip movement that most often ruins the shot. All kinds of clubs are good to practice this move; as you get more familiar with them, you will definitely lower your golf handicap and gain self-confidence. It is a good idea to have a look at professional players and analyze their moves technically, thus you’ll understand the logic behind the perfect shot.

Golf putting instructions
Many golf players would do with some more golf putting instructions since this is probably one of the most difficult parts of the game. Trainers who give golf putting instructions advise their students to keep their head and body still during the move. Trust me; a simple “keep still” doesn’t work. The main secret is to keep the eyes still during the stroke, and then the chances are a lot higher that the rest of the body should remain still. Golf putting instructions mainly refer to eye-following the ball until it is moving towards the hole at which you aimed.
If you follow the golf putting instructions you actually solve half of the score problem. If you don’t take putting lessons, at least try to practice alignment, strokes and grip changes. From grip to posture, stance and stroke, there are lots of golf putting instructions you need to actively apply in order to develop harmonious golfing skills. Keep in mind that if you’re using a square-to-square shot, golf putting instructions say that you should stroke the back of the ball and not the centre. Thus you make sure that you take all new information step by step applying it thoroughly.
Most golf putting instructions are quite simple so that anyone could apply them with a minimal amount of practice. Keep in mind that there are just of few principles that truly guide the golf putting instructions. You have to sight the line of the putt from the rear, then place your eyes just a little behind the ball but over the putt line. The shot you take has to be in a line as straight as possible. Then the stroke should be performed in one move so that the putter may be just like an arm extension. Follow these golf putting instructions and be a real player.
The first question that rises for these golf putting questions is how to get a more accurate sight from the rear. The answer to this dilemma is to constantly practice since the trial – error kind of learning is the more useful for someone who really wants to feel what it’s like to play golf. Most people don’t make a living out of golf, so they can train only when they have enough time; hence, they use the golf putting instructions more than someone who trains every day. There is nothing to lose in trying, just a few strokes!

Golf swing instructions
All the golf beginners are eager to learn and apply the golf swing instructions they find out during special classes, from magazines or the Internet. You may have watched professional players and wondered about the golf swing instructions that lie behind their training. We should begin by saying that most people who start learning golf often share the wrong impression that the arms are fundamental in this game. To a certain extent they are right, but as you are to find out, golf swing instructions require that the body and the arms create the move together.
If you’ve seen some “professional” player hit the ball by a very quick move of the arms, that will not be the person to take as a model. Golf swing instructions are clear about the coordination of feet, legs, trunk and finally, shoulder movement. This is the correct and only order to practice your swing. The first part of the golf swing instructions should mention that if you move the body slowly, you will actually hit the ball better, and it will go a lot farther. If you just slow down, you can better control the club centre, send the ball faster with less effort. This is a golf swing instruction worth remembering.
These golf swing instructions show you how to begin practice. Keep the club at waist height and let the body be the one to swing the club head. See how that feels! If you move your body weight from one leg to the other, the club will swing faster. This golf swing instruction should make you understand the speed principle of a basic golf move. Then, don’t simply think you’re going to hit the ball, since this will cause the arms to move faster. The golf swing instruction here is to shift the body weight and thus imprint force to the move.
It takes time and practice to actually follow the golf swing instructions your trainer may show you; remember this is a sport, so, training is everything. If you make an effort just to understand the logical principle of the golf swing instructions, you’ll be one step closer to more powerful, yet effortless moves. You may find it useful to have a look at a professional site such as The Simple Golf Swing providing even more insight. Even if you choose to go on learning other golf tricks besides the swing ones, don’t forget that the latter are basic, you’ll always need them to do the rest.

Golf vacation packages
The great advantage of golf vacation packages is that you can combine a great hobby with other leisure activities and include your family in the equation too. It has become quite a fashion to buy golf vacation packages to exotic destinations that are famous for their luxurious golf resorts. Thus you can enjoy your favorite sport in a unique atmosphere: listening to the waves crushing against the shores while swinging for the perfect shot in the shade of a palm tree. Most travel agencies target golfers with special golf vacation packages and all-inclusive offers.
Furthermore it has also become common practice to combine business trips with golf vacation packages. For instance, instead of sending a group of executives for a team building reunion, a company receives discounts for larger golf vacation packages and sends its stuff to do business and golf. Hotels provide golf facilities too, beside the major courses, thus making it possible to preserve privacy and peace in the most diplomatic of ways. Studies have shown that business relationships are much more solid when dealt in a relaxed atmosphere and golf vacation packages offer the right solution for the matter.
Very often golf vacation packages include golf classes for beginners; maybe you’ve never even tried to hold a club before, but you’d definitely like the idea. This is one great idea of fun and practical spirit that you must absolutely grasp. Given the fact that most of the golf vacation packages are usually all-inclusive, even if you’re not a golf player you feel like taking the challenge of trying something new. One of the most famous golf resorts in the world, for instance, Kapalua in Maui, has its own local Golf Academy, where you can always learn new stuff all year round.
A golf vacation package to Maui would surely change your image about golf, as this is the place where real professional competitions take place every year at the prestigious PGA Tour Mercedes Championships. Besides great sports opportunities a golf vacation package brings the chance to know different places and do things you’ve never done before. All may seem to revolve around golf when you buy a golf vacation package, but once you get there to actually live it, you realize that to a certain extent golf was a simple pretext. Thus you will cherish all the aspects of a perfect vacation: sports fun, gorgeous scenery and a welcomed change for your family.

Improve your golf swing
Magazines, online web pages and special golf schools provide tips and solutions for beginners who want to improve their golf swing. Probably the best important move that rules the golf game is the swing. How can you actually improve your golf swing? There are several ways to do so, but they all share one common element: practice. It also very much depends on where you learn golf: in an organized environment as a course or simply on your own as a hobby. In case you are part of a professional program, you may improve your golf swing sooner than you may expect it.
Your trainer will show you how to balance the body weight and move it from one foot to the other in order for you to improve your golf swing. It is important that you feel the stroke with your body as a whole, as its force very much depends on the ability to hit with the centre of the club and imprint the desired direction to the ball. Part of the practice to improve your golf swing involves the control of your eye focus. Very many golf players find it difficult in the beginning to focus on the flight line.
Ask your personal trainer how to improve your golf swing by also controlling mind focus. Very many tips you find online refer to self-control; once you stop worrying and thinking about the success of your move, you’ll actually act on reflex which is far more natural. On the other hand if you’re trying to improve your golf swing at home it would be not such a bad idea to have someone record you executing the move. Thus you may analyze the way the body responds to the situation and learn what you should avoid in order to improve your golf swing.
For better and more professional tips on how to improve your golf swing you can visit a highly reliable site such as The Simple Golf Swing. Though you’re explicitly explained how to grip the club, how to keep the feet close to one another for a short shot, how to move your head to the right a little and so on, true skills only come with personal effort. You can improve your golf swing in a matter of days if you learn how to control the right balance. With just a little effort and lots of fun you’ll improve your golf swing.
