Find The Right Senior Golf Clubs
When you are thinking about changing golf clubs to fit you better as you age, you want to look for golf clubs that will give you distance as well. You may want to have an iron that is custom made, a hybrid club or a clone wood. These are just a few different ideas when you are thinking about golf clubs. Although the clone clubs are slightly different from the original clubs, many golfers find that these clubs are more suited for their changing needs. Whether you need new irons, woods or drivers you can find some with just enough flex in the shaft that will help you gain more distance.
There are many manufacturers of senior golf clubs such as Calloway, Wedgewood, Adams and Nike. You need to choose a golf club that has enough flex in the shaft, but not too much. It will depend on your ability to swing the club as the amount of flex you need. The flex is what allows the golf club to bend as you swing and connect with the ball. You will choose from the ladies flex, senior flex, regular, stiff and extra stiff flex. If the flex of the shaft is not matched with your swing, you could miscalculate your swing. A senior golf club has a little more flex that that of a beginning golfer.
Many golf course pro shops do have golf clubs with different flex shaft ratings that you can use out on the driving range. This allows the senior golf player to find the right club that will give you the distance. Before you buy a club, trying different shaft flexes will enable you to find the one you need without mistakenly buying the wrong one. You can also find a shop that custom makes golf clubs for senior golfers and have a set of clubs make especially to enhance your game.
Whether you buy an expensive senior golf club or a discounted club will not matter as long as you buy the right club with the right amount of flex. You do however need to buy something durable, this is where it pays to be critical with discount clubs. Just because the club gives you, the distance might not mean it will be the best. Some discount clubs may loosen up as you use it more. This could cause the flex to become softer than what you need.
Senior golf players have more advantages today then what they have in the past. The clubs are designed more for their use and flexibility where as golfers in the past usually only had a few club flexes to choose from as they gained more experience in the game. Finding the different golf clubs and understanding the best clubs will help your game. You can look at different websites under the manufacturers of the clubs to see what they offer and what the ratings are before you seek a pro shop to try the club on the greens.

The Dress Code For Golf
The dress code for golf is probably the most strict of all sports. This means that it is very important to ensure that you are selecting the best possible apparel when you are trying to decide what to wear. Though different golf courses have their individual rules, if you know what are the most acceptable dress norms, you can have a more fruitful experience. It is important to remember that some golf courses are very particular about the dress worn by the players and they would not permit any player on the course unless he is adequately dressed. Can you imaging the embarrassment of being turned away just because you weren't wearing the right clothes.
Several things about men and boys are unwelcome on the golf course. The two most universal are concerned with shirts - any shirt worn by a player must have a collar and sleeves. Another area that is a no-no is the use of running pants and shoes that have metal studs. You should take care to avoid wearing clothing with obnoxious logos or anything offensive on them as well. Moreover, sporting jeans or sandals are prohibited and this applies to women too.
The most proper men's attire on the golf course happens to be collared shirts, the right pair of pants or shorts and golf or athletic shoes. A pair of golf shoes when worn must only have the soft spike type and not metal owing to the lawn damage that is caused by them. Shirts can have long or short sleeves and you can always wear a turtleneck or a sweater. The socks that are worn must be at least ankle length and should be a solid color with only minimal and tasteful logos.
If you are a woman, you are still expected to wear a fitted shirt with either shorts or skirt. Usually women are not allowed to wear any type of trousers, including jeans shorts. For women, the length of the skirt or short is important and they ought to be cautious that these do not go up more than 5 inches above the knee. However, specific golf courses have their own rules regarding this. Women are also supposed to wear shirts with collars unless they have put on a pullover with a V-style neck design.
However, a woman can wear a shirt that is completely sleeveless or have short sleeved (providing it has a collar). Other things which are allowed on the golf course are socks which comp up till the ankles, and shoes which should be either golf or athletic. Socks must be a solid color, with minimal logos and tasteful designs. In case you take any person with you to the golf course, this visitor should also abide by the same dress codes. As stated above the exact dress code for the golf course where you play may vary, a quick check of their website, or a quick phone call should clear up any questions you have in regards to what is appropriate and what is not if you have any questions.
